Nua Counselling is a Dublin counselling practice run by Carmel Crowe.

Carmel has worked as a Psychotherapist since 2004, and has worked with a wide range of clients, covering a broad spectrum of presenting issues. She has a background in business management, and has also worked extensively in private practice, and in various Dublin Counselling Centres. Carmel holds a first class honours degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy from Dublin Business School, and is a fully accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).

Carmel is committed to the process of Psychotherapy, and believes it offers clients a safe and supportive environment in which to explore a wide range of issues.  Her therapeutic approach is,  Integrative, using amongst others; Humanistic, Psychodynamic and CBT frameworks. She believes that within these frameworks, clients can not only explore difficult emotions, but work to attain better self awareness, and self development.

Carmel has experience working with stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, bereavement, trauma, sexual abuse, suicide, and the general emotional problems that living a busy life can create.

Carmel has a special interest in psychotherapy as it applies to sexual abuse, suicide.

Carmel also works with legal professionals in the preperation of legal/pychotherapeutic reports for the courts

Supervision

Therapists are ethically required to be in supervision, which is a form of consultative support. They must therefore discuss their work with their supervisor. However, a supervisor is also bound by rules of confidentiality so in practice there is no likelihood of any breach of trust.
